2 – He Understands The Arsenal Way
Not knowing who the manager will be next season or whether we’ll be in the Champions League would be enough to turn any player away.
However, Sead Kolasinac obviously understands the situation the club is going through right now and he clearly wants to turn that into a positive.
Having dismissed offers from AC Milan, Everton and reportedly Manchester City, Kolasinac has chosen a side where he’ll find competition throughout the season.
Let’s say Monreal and Gibbs stay, there is no assurances that he’ll get half of the game time we’re all expecting him too – but I think he’ll understand that.
At 23 and having signed for five years, Kolasinac wants to be a part of this club for the long-term and that tells us he’s already been promised a project.
He knows that Arsenal don’t settle for Europa League football and personally, he wants to get as far as he can under the Gunners for his personal benefit.
What I mean by that is he’s not going to have too much of a problem getting national football, so his sole focus is to push forward with his new club.
He’s joining at a time where regular first team players like Xhaka and Mustafi are getting used to the Arsenal concept, so that will be a great way to integrate him.
As for his mentality, coming from Schalke means he hasn’t got a huge ego and isn’t used to winning something every other week! That could be a vital asset next season!
