Arsenal are set to make a sensational £35m bid to secure Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this summer, according to reports published today by Goal.
The 27-year-old striker could be on the move this summer with changes afoot in the Spanish capital, as Real Madrid have already relieved manager Carlo Ancelotti of his duties following a trophy less season for Los Blancos.
With the ten-time European Champions being linked to strikers like Radamel Falcao and Sergio Aguero, a potential mix-up to the BBC strike force could see Benzema on his way out- and Arsenal are first in the queue for the former Lyon hit man.
Arsene Wenger has been a long-term fan of the French striker, who has scored 22 goals this season, and is desperate to strengthen his side ahead of next season where he is aiming to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League in his 20th season with Arsenal.
The Gunners have the funds to lure the Frenchman to Arsenal and it would be another tremendous coup for the North London giants, who have secured Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the last two transfer windows.
