The reports originate from Spanish news outlet SPORT, who imply that Nolito is looking for a change of scenery in the winter window, and Arsenal are ready to open negotiations.

Nolito is a versatile forward who has started the season very well for Celta Vigo, most recently being named as September’s La Liga player of the month.

Nolito turns 29 this month and has played for Celta Vigo since 2013, scoring 32 goals in 76 appearances for the club. He has previously played for the likes of Barcelona (mainly for the ‘B’ team) and Benfica.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in re-signing him, and the player has publicly said that a move to the Spanish Champions would be ‘impossible to turn down’. Perhaps a chance for the player to test himself in the Premier League would also be an attractive option for Nolito, who may want to follow in the footsteps of Pedro who joined Chelsea this summer.

After 5 goals and 3 assists from the first seven La Liga games, Nolito will be attracting widespread interest from across Europe if he can continue his form.

It is thought that Celta Vigo would accept bids in the region of €20million for their star performer, and with a limited amount of quality attacking options currently on the market, you can see why Arsene Wenger is interested.
