Arsenal will agree to part ways with one of their South American assets, according to reports in Turkey.

Fanatik, who love a transfer rumour, are persistent with their claims that David Ospina will leave Arsenal this summer and join Besiktas.

OooooooSPINAaaaaaa! I’ll miss that should he leave, but to be honest, not a lot else.

Wenger has a huge amount of confidence in the Colombian but for me, his shot-stopping flatters to deceive. He’s better than Petr Cech in that department, but he is extremely unreliable and prone to an error – I don’t think his style of goalkeeping and physique is suitable for the Premier League. He is capable of making the save of the season but also probably amongst the most frequent amount of errors.

The reports that have come out so far show nothing concrete, but if Ospina is sold it is likely that Arsenal will have to sign a new backup goalkeeper, with Woijech Szczesny seemingly unwilling to be Cech’s understudy and instead, he wishes to remain in Roma and gain more first team experience.

Signing a backup goalkeeper is always a tricky one, who do you go for? Nobody will want to be on the bench and they know they will be with Cech at the club. Do you go for youth to take over from Cech, but risk them making a blunder when needed? Or do you get in an experience stopper to fill in when Cech inevitably gets injured. One things for sure, we shouldn’t promote Matt Macey.
