Petr Cech – 7.8

Cech kept another clean sheet and although he wasn’t tested much in the second half, he kept Arsenal in the game in the first 45 minutes. Another top class performance from a player who will want to get in the Premier League team of the season come the end of the campaign.

Hector Bellerin – 8.3

Wow. What a performance from the 20 year old. Quality going forward as always, but what was particularly impressive on Saturday was his defensive desire. Sprinting back to clean off the line before clattering into the post, and running over half the length of the pitch in less than 6 seconds to deny Gomis. He really is a weapon and if he can continue this form he will become one of the best right backs in the world.

Per Mertesacker – 6.3

Not a good performance from the BFG. His lack of pace was targeted and his reading of the game wasn’t up to his usual standards. I think after his performance today and in midweek against Wednesday, Gabriel is likely to come back into the starting eleven.

Laurent Koscielny – 7.7

Koscielny deserves a higher rating for me as he was quality. Several top quality tackles and duels as well as another Premier League goal. Did well to keep Gomis quiet and cover for his German partner who struggled.

Nacho Monreal – 7.2

Dealt with what was thrown at him well, didn’t have an awful lot to do as Swansea’s right winger Andre Ayew was often cutting inside to play more centrally, whilst the hosts would look to attack on the other wing through Jefferson Montero.

Francis Coquelin – 7.0

Not incredible but did his job well for most of the game. Some crucial tackles and interceptions to help us turn from defence to attack swiftly. Coquelin and Cazorla as a duo were not as influential as they can sometimes be.

Santi Cazorla – 6.7

Not up to his high standards, struggled to stamp his authority on the midfield especially in the first half. Thankfully we didn’t need the Spaniard to play any more than average as other players got us the 3 goals and 3 points.

Joel Campbell – 7.7

With the injuries to our wingers, Campbell was gifted his first Premier League start on Saturday and he took his chance well. Clearly lacking some match sharpness, Campbell struggled to make an impact in the first half but remained positive. In the second his hard work paid off as he scored his first competitive goal for the Gunners.

Mesut Ozil – 9.0 (Man of the Match)

Ozil started ticking in the second half and then so did everyone else. He managed two official assists and played a big part in setting up Koscielny’s goal. The German is an incredible footballer and is now starting to show his top quality consistently.

Alexis Sanchez – 6.0

Not a good day for the Chilean. Cut a frustrated figure throughout, but I’m not really sure why. He gave the ball away quite a lot and looked tired, not busting a gut like he normal does.

Olivier Giroud – 7.5

Deserved a slightly higher rating for me. Although he missed a good chance in the first half, his strength was brilliant to hold up play throughout the 90 minutes and his header gave us the breakthrough which then led to our teams dominance.

Subs

Kieran Gibbs (on for Campbell 82′) – 6.0
Calum Chambers (on for Giroud 82′) – 5.8
Alex Iwobi (on for Ozil 89′) – 6.0
