Player Ratings: Arsenal 2-0 Borrusia Dortmund

After a difficult run domestically and in the Champions League, Arsenal got back on a track with a much deserved 2-0 victory over Borrusia Dortmund.

Whilst it wasn’t a vintage performance, the Gunners put in a professional job, with victory essentially being sealed with Sanchez’s excellent finish in the 57th minute. Hopefully this victory will provide Arsene Wenger’s men with some much-needed confidence ahead of a run of what should be considered some more favourable fixtures.

Damian Martinez: 7.5/10- Made two impressive saves at important moments in the match. Didn’t look out-of-place in the Arsenal side either.

Calum Chambers: 6.5/10- Solid going forwards and in defence. Oozes confidence every time he steps out on the field.

Per Mertesacker: 7/10- Defensively sound and cleared very well. Passing accuracy also very good.

Nacho Monreal: 6.5/10- More composed performance from the Spaniard. Won most of his aerial duels and passed out from the back well.

Kieran Gibbs: 8/10- Another fine performance from the England left-back. Didn’t put a foot wrong in defence and was a constant outlet going forwards.

Mikel Arteta: 8/10- Man of the Match performance for me. Screened in front of the defence very well and was the base for all our attacks. Shame to see him go off injured.

Aaron Ramsey: 7/10- Kept his game far more simple and seems to be slowly getting back to his best.

Santi Cazorla: 7.5/10- Grabbed two assists in what was probably his best performance of the season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 8/10- Burst to life on a couple of occasions and almost scored a wonder goal. Drifted in and out of the game, but is building some amazing form.

Alexis Sanchez: 7.5/10- Struggled to get into the match early on. Took his goal really nicely though and grew into the game as it went on. Worth every penny!

Yaya Sanogo: 7.5/10- Finally scored his first goal. Hold-up play was impressive throughout. More to come hopefully.

Subs-

Mathieu Flamini: 6/10- Game over by the time he came on. Put in a couple of nice challenges.

Lukas Podolski: 5.5/10- His days in North London are surely numbered. Game over by the time he came on and rarely got a touch in the final third.

Joel Campbell: Not on long enough to rate.
