Lyon President Confirms Arsenal Will Announce A Club Record Transfer In 48 Hours

These days it appears Jean-Michel Aulas is acting as a bit of a spokesperson when it comes to the latest Arsenal transfer news.

The Lyon president has been reluctant to share any information regarding his star player, Alexandre Lacazette, but it finally looks as if he’s caved in to the media.

During an interview with Le Progres, Aulas confirmed that 26-year-old Lacazette would be joining the Gunners very soon after the clubs agreed on a €50m deal.

As well as revealing the news we’ve all been waiting to hear, Aulas assured us that the move could be announced within the next one or two days.

The first offer made by Arsenal was €45m. The deal will happen for something between €45m and €50m. To be close to €50m is something unique, and will be without a doubt a record for Arsenal and a record for Lyon absolutely.

The €67m figure announced by English sources and then relayed constitute an impossible sum that is not realistic.

We will without a doubt hit a record, it is not a small transfer, €50m for a player who was produced by our club.

Lacazette has been a target for Arsene Wenger over the last few years but it’s always been Aulas who’s put his foot down on the possibility of the Frenchman leaving.

However, the personal preferences of Lyon’s number one striker have changed the circumstances and the nature of Arsenal’s transfer business has meant they’ve had to be a bit more ruthless.

Now it seems Lacazette will join Sead Kolasinac as the Gunners second signing of the summer and we’re only just into day two of the transfer window!

I really think this is all being done to try and convince Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil that Wenger is serious about next season, despite being dumped into the Europa League.

We’ll have all of the latest on Lacazette’s move to Arsenal, including all of the photo’s and details you’ll want to see after he completes a club record £46million move.
