Hull City Set To Sign Arsenal Defender

Hull City have tabled a £3million bid for Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson according to SkySports and Goal believe a deal has been agreed for that figure. The Gunners are set to sign Calum Chambers in a deal worth an initial £12million, whilst Mathieu Debuchy has already joined the club for £10million. With Hector Bellerin highly rated and also being a right back, Carl Jenkinson looks set to leave the club on a permanent basis due to being deemed surplus to requirements.

Jenkinson is a huge Arsenal fan but it seems Arsene Wenger is not convinced by his ability and the defender looks set to stay in the Premier League with Hull. Jenkinson clearly has ability and desire, but there are question marks over whether he is good enough to play for Arsenal in the long-term and with the Gunners building a title challenging squad, the English right-backs name was starting to look a bit out of place amongst the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Chambers, Bellerin and Debuchy offer different options for the right back position and all have more quality than Jenkinson. It’s certainly been a busy summer for the right back department at Arsenal, and hopefully it is for the best.

If he does leave, I wish him all the best. He has a great attitude and he loves the club. I honestly hope he does well and stays in the Premier League as a regular player. The £3million fee we look set to receive could seem not much in a few years if he continues his progression.
