Gunners Open Official Talks For First Big Summer Signing

Arsenal have made their first steps towards securing the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton this summer, according to sources of ESPN.

The French international has been attracting the attention of the Gunners ever since last summer’s World Cup and with the Saints set to miss out on Champions League football, he is tipped to make the leap to the next step this summer.

Schneiderlin was frustrated that he was not allowed to leave last summer but it’s been stated that he was assured he will not be prevented from leaving at the end of this campaign- as long as interested parties match their asking price.

Arsenal face competition from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the player’s signature but it is believed Schneiderlin favours a move to the Emirates, as the Gunners can offer Champions League football.

The 25-year-old is desperate to play in Europe’s elite competition and although Arsenal have not yet made an official bid, their enquiry suggests a move is likely for the player who is now sidelined under next season through injury.
