Gossip: Three Updates As Arsenal Ramp Up Transfer Activity

Following the news regarding Jamie Vardy turning down a chance to join the Gunners, transfer rumours have ramped up as the club look for a quick fix.

Arsene Wenger was pinning his hopes on the striker leaving the Premier League champions after activating his £20million release clause earlier this month.

In reflection, Arsenal are now ready to look at alternative options in order to get their squad finalised in time for July’s pre-season tour of America.

Earlier this week the Gunners boss revealed he wants to add two more players to his side following the signing of Granit Xhaka, but that hasn’t told us who might be vacating the Emirates.

1 – Kieran Gibbs

With his future at Arsenal looking about as good as his chances were to go to this summer’s Euro’s, Gibbs is top on the list of players facing the axe this summer.

Towards the end of the season Liverpool came out as favourites to sign the England international as Jurgen Klopp searched for reinforcements for the underperforming Alberto Moreno.

However, despite the deal reportedly being set up in the region of £12million, Sport Review believe that things have cooled off and Gibbs is likely to stick around at Arsenal.

The 26-year-old looked to have his bags packed with the rumours surfacing that Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez was set to follow his Swiss teammate Xhaka to North London.

But now it seems Gibbs is ready to stick around and fight for his place against Nacho Monreal, after making just three starts in the Premier League last season.
