German International Defender ‘Wants To Join Arsenal’ Despite Chelsea Interest

Arsenal transfer target Antonio Rudiger has revealed his ‘heart beats for Arsenal’.

Rudiger, a 21-year-old German defender played as a youth player at Borussia Dortmund but has since managed over 50 games for the Stuttgart senior team.

He was quizzed on Chelsea’s interest, but suggested he was an Arsenal fan and wanted to move to North London: “I have been following Arsenal since the days of [Thierry] Henry and [Dennis] Bergkamp,” he said. “I watch videos of Arsenal all the time on YouTube and I often wear the current Alexis Sánchez shirt. My heart beats for Arsenal.”

Rudiger has been impressing in the Bundesliga for Stuttgart and recently earned his reward when he was called up to the national team. He was able to play for Sierra Leone, but since making his debut for Germany on the 11th of October, that possibility is no longer.

Rudiger is just 21 and stands at 6ft 3. Those simple attributes make him an appropriate signing for Arsenal considering their lack of youth and height in defence. His overall ability must also be good to have attracted interest from some of Europes top clubs and earn a call up to the national team.

Rudiger is a strong defender, especially known for his pace. He also has the ability to play as a holding midfielder.
