The France International has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal over the past few weeks and earlier this week it was rumoured that he was set to sign for Paris Saint Germain. His comments will irritate Newcastle United fans who are without a manager after seeing Alan Pardew depart for Crystal Palace.

Arsenal are lacking a real powerhouse in the middle of the park and a player of Sissoko’s calibre would be an effective move for the club.

Sissoko has previously underlined his commitment to Newcastle however a change in thought for the Frenchman, will frustrate Newcastle United fans.

The Newcastle talisman was open to the idea of a move to Arsenal as he said: “The transfer market is open, so things can happen any day, but I am focused on Newcastle. If anything should happen, it will. I hope I’ll leave for a bigger club one day, but I don’t know when”.

The Frenchman continued by saying: “If Wenger calls, I’ll have a man-to-man discussion with him and then we’ll see. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart.”

Sissoko is a player with an abundance of talent and skill however concerns still remain to whether or not he is the right player Arsenal need in the defensive midfield position. Time will tell if he does in fact join the Gunners.
