Arsenal’s competitive football begins again on August the 2nd when they meet Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley. With that in mind, here’s four transfer deals that Arsenal should try and complete before then.

1. Karim Benzema

Benzema, 27 could be available this summer and Arsene Wenger is finally ready to sign the French striker. Benzema would add significant quality to our front line and attacking options. Only Olivier Giroud has proven himself as an established striker in our system, with Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott both failing to convince in a central berth consistently. Yaya Sanogo is in line for another loan deal out of the club and that means Wenger could make a signing. Benzema is a world class player and can make the difference in the title race. Wenger was ruthless with Petr Cech’s signing, leaving Woijech Szczesny and David Ospina in the lurch – he needs to have a similar attitude when looking to sign a striker. If Benzema’s available we need to go all out to sign him. Real Madrid are reportedly looking at Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Gunners seem confident on a potential Benzema deal.
