I’m talking about number 10 in the picture above, Marcelo Allende, who has become one of the rising stars since taking the armband for Chile’s Under 17’s team.

So what’s he got to do with Arsenal? Well, having spent regular trial periods with the Arsenal academy since March 2016, Allende is now making an impact.

The youngster was pictured training with the first team at London Colney on Wednesday morning, near enough confirming Arsene Wenger’s intent to sign the midfielder.

Allende (behind Iwobi above) turns 18 in April and will be available to sign a professional contract with the North London club, following in the footsteps of another Chilean great.

Reports have pointed out that Allende has taken support from Alexis Sanchez during his time with the Gunners by picking up the language and getting tips on how to make it in English football.

Allende has come through the ranks at the same club as Alexis too, with Corbeloa now boasting about the duo’s talent as well as Eduardo Vargas.

From what I’ve seen on YouTube he definitely looks like a player that could burst onto the scene as he’s been playing above near enough every year he’s been in football.

He can play across the attacking parts of midfield and has often been given the demanding role of playing in the centre, however his attributes make him more of a winger in my eyes.

With Theo Walcott failing to impress in the second half of this season and being closer to his 30’s, someone like Allende could be spot on to step into his shoes.

He’s exciting, new and definitely something that Arsenal fans need to talk about, let’s just hope we don’t give him too much, too soon!
