Dani Alves: Alexis Sanchez Joining PSG In January Is A Possibility

Believe it or not, selling our best player to PSG in January might actually be seen as an incredibly good bit of business by Arsene Wenger.

I think we’ve all pretty much accepted that Alexis Sanchez has packed his bags and will look to move away from North London as soon as possible in the search for silverware.

Manchester City seemed to be where he’d be playing his football this season after a deadline day offer from Pep Guardiola’s side was initially accepted by verbal contact only.

However, with the clock ticking, the Gunners failed to get a replacement in and Alexis will now face a season of no Champions League football and not even a World Cup to look forward to.

City are expected to come back in for Alexis in January though and are free to legally talk to the player from January 1st, where things are pretty much out of Arsenal’s hands.

But there could still be one last positive for us as supporters, because PSG are also considering entering the race for the 28-year-old which would result in Alexis not having to join a direct Premier League rival.

Speaking to reporters following Brazil’s 3-0 victory over Chile that saw Alexis’ country fail to secure a spot in Russia next year, Dani Alves flirted with the idea of PSG signing Arsenal’s star man.

It is possible. He is being heavily courted by many teams.

I will be happy for him wherever he goes. But if it is to come to us, then that’s better.

Alexis now faces a huge decision to consider over the next few months, whether to link up with former players in Neymar and Alves or join his old boss, Guardiola.

It’s no longer a question of financial return for Arsenal, who will have to sell for a maximum of £30million or face losing Alexis for absolutely nothing at the end of the season.

Judging by Wenger’s behaviour over the window and if we can sign Thomas Lemar in January, the option that would have most benefits is to sell in the upcoming window!
