Reports have been issued by several trusted sources stating that Lucas Perez’s thigh injury is worse that first expected, and he will now miss two key games.

The Spaniard was a surprise omission from the squad that lost 3-1 to West Brom on Saturday afternoon after picking up a late strain in the final stages of training.

Wenger confirmed the forward was missing but failed to put a return date on the £17million man, however it seems we’ve had a bit of an update.

Goal’s Chris Wheatley is pretty much always on the money when it comes to Arsenal news, and now Wenger will be without Lucas for two important home ties.

After the international break the Gunners welcome Manchester City and West Ham United to the Emirates in what could be two season defining games.

The mood around the fanbase is already stale, and depending on where Arsene Wenger’s decision on his future goes it’s news that won’t be welcome on the pitch.

Lucas has already stated he’s keen to fight for his place in the team, but a lack of chances in the Premier League and failure to reward his success has cast doubt over his future.

Despite Arsenal starting with one of their strongest attacking formations against West Brom, they still failed to dig out any creativity but now Wenger has few options in the front three.

We’re still awaiting the extent of Ozil’s hamstring problem too, however it’s expected to just rule him out of the international period.
