The 18-year-old will join the League Two outfit until January 6th, with a rumoured option to extend the spell until the end of the season if he is not needed at the Gunners.

O’Connor has impressed since he was offered a professional contract with the club back in 2014, but has made just three appearances for the academy this year.

Most supporters will remember the youngster for making his first team debut against Galatassary last season after he replaced Mathieu Debuchy in the 4-1 victory.

After originally playing for Crystal Palace from a very young age, the central defender joined Arsene Wenger’s side back in 2013, and impressed in his opening season with the Under 18’s.

He has since made several appearances for the Under-21’s and is prepared to gain some intense experience in a competitive league like the English third division.

O’Connor joins York City with immediate effect.
