This time, Arsenal are reportedly going to go back to Villarreal and sign Gabriel Paulista’s former teammate, Matteo Musacchio – because he must’ve been the one making Gabriel look good, right?
Arsenal want Musacchio, say Fichajes and will bid £11.5million for him. Musacchio is a 25-year-old Argentinian defender who has been part of the Villarreal defence that has earned the nickname ‘yellow submarine’ due to its defensive efforts this campaign.
Musacchio has been at the Spanish club since 2009 and despite his success domestically, he has only managed 3 call ups for the Argentine national team.
The report goes on to say that although Arsenal are willing to pay £11.5million (€15m), that would not be sufficient. They say Villarreal would want a lot more for their star man, perhaps €30million. Maybe Gabriel + cash kind of deal would work – after all they did tell us he was good.. (I’m joking I’m sure he will come good, one day).
