Reports suggest that Norwich are facing competition from fellow Championship sides Nottingham Forest, AFC Bournemouth and Derby County for the player signature- but the Canaries are believed to be leading the chase.

A deal is expected to be ironed out either today or tomorrow, with the club pushing to secure the deal before Thursday’s emergency loan deal deadline.

Speaking to the media after Saturday’s game, Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman confirmed the club’s interest and that of ‘three or four’ other clubs. He said:

“The particular player we are interested in was here at Norwich in the morning talking to them. That is fine. I know there are four teams who are in for him and he will probably choose Monday or Tuesday,”

“I am going to try my very best to get a striker in and hopefully I got the opportunity to meet up with him and we won’t speak about money, we will speak about how I can hopefully develop him. It would be disrespectful of me to say who that is.”
