Arsenal Stars Challenged To £30,000 Sprint Race

Two Arsenal stars have been challenged by elite British runner, Richard Kilty, who believes the reported sprint recordings for Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin are nonsense.

Kilty even stated he was prepared to lay down £30,000 as a wager as he challenged both Gunners to a showdown race whilst on his Twitter account.

As the 1-0 victory over Burnley was analysed on Sky Sport’s, Saturday Night Football, the spotlight focused on the rising talent of Hector Bellerin.

Statistics showed that Bellerin is the current record holder of the 40 metre sprint record at Arsenal, with a time of 4.42 seconds.

Theo Walcott closely followed behind the Spanish youngster, with Thierry Henry still gripping onto third place in the standings.

However, not even Usain Bolt reached 4.42 seconds at 40m when he set the world record for the 100m race at the last Olympics, leaving reliability for the figures questionable.

Kilty is currently the World and European champion for the 60m race, which leaves him with strong reason to doubt the media claims of both Walcott and Bellerin.

Neither player has responded to the challenge yet, after they were directly tagged in a post on Twitter.
