If Arsenal Could Sign One Manchester United Player, I’d Choose..

I’d choose Wayne Rooney.

The England striker has been at Old Trafford for 11 years and has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most complete players, winning 5 League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson since his move from Merseyside.

Rooney’s official captaincy appointment for both club and country at the start of last season, has seen him gradually thrive under this new role as the season progressed.

There were very few candidates who were deserving of such a role on either front than the 29 year-old, who’s now been United and England’s longest serving player, most recently equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal-scoring record for country.

Apart from David De Gea, he is without a doubt one of the club’s top 3 players, especially in a team who’ve underperformed in the past two seasons under two different managers. His experience and seniority in the side is invaluable to the United.

And if there’s one thing this Arsenal team lacks are leaders. There are very few of those in the team so therefore, that type of presence in the squad would only strengthen the side’s title challenging credentials. A player like Rooney is exactly what this Arsenal team needs.

Although at 29, some may argue his best is behind him as he begins to enter the latter chapters of his career, but Rooney’s 5 premier league medals would provide the squad with a title winning mentally and an experienced leader.
