Arsenal are closing in on a sensational €60million deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Bourssia Dortmund as Arsenal look to replace the departing Alexis Sanchez with world-class talent.
The club’s new head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, has assured the club that Aubameyang is not a ‘bad boy’ but is just desperate to switch clubs and Arsenal is set to be his new destination. After missing a club meeting, the player was left out of the squad this weekend and Arsenal are new extremely confident of sealing a deal this week for a player who has scored 98 goals in his 143 appearances for Dortmund.
Although not yet signed, it is believed that personal terms for Aubameyang have been agreed in principle at around £200,000 per week and the player, who turns 29 this year, will sign a 4 year deal.
It remains to be seen how Arsenal could play both Alexandre Lacazette and Aubameyang in the same team, but the Gunners could now switch to a two-striker formation, although both are capable of playing as wide forwards.
With Aubameyang and some other attacking signings on the horizon, Arsenal are set to ditch the 3 at the back system moving forward, with a back four set to return.
