Arsenal Made ‘Favourites’ To Sign Central Midfield Solution For £36m

With the new season less than two weeks away, Arsenal are back in London and ready to step up their pursuit of another summer addition.

Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez and Mathieu Debuchy were just a handful of players missing from this weekend’s Emirates Cup squad, and it appears Arsene Wenger wants to sell before he buys.

However, one area that’s in desperate need of some answers is central midfield, with all sorts of issues affecting the short-term future of several first-team players.

Jack Wilshere has had more injuries than I’ve had hot dinners, whilst the Granit Xhaka is still settling in to become the long-term replacement of the injured Santi Cazorla.

Wenger could do with a signing that would really complete this team and according to The Guardian’s Deputy News Editor, Ed Aarons, he’s already found the answer.

Jean Michael Seri has been a heavily linked target over recent months, and Fresh Arsenal now understand that Wenger is open to triggering the midfielder’s £36m release clause.

Following a rejected bid of £16m from Swansea, OGC Nice have made it clear they won’t sell on the cheap but are powerless to letting their star man go.

At 26 years of age, Seri is a ready to fit straight into the Arsenal team and carries the same amount of agility and skill that’s similar to a young Cazorla.

Admittedly he’s not a household name but that’s a good thing in my opinion, having someone that can come in without a reputation in order to just get on with playing reliable, consistent football.

Time will only tell and I think we’ll have to see Wilshere go before this signing happens, but as things look it appears Seri would prefer a move to Arsenal ahead of the likes of Spurs or Everton.
