Arsenal Linked With Making These 3 Massive Signings: The Likelihood

Arsenal’s transfer activity has increased dramatically in the last few days, if the press are to be believed anyway. The Gunners appear to be in the market for both attacking and defensive signings. We take a look at the latest rumours and how likely they are to actually happen.

When the rumour originated it had little substance due to the stories including Olivier Giroud and an extra £40million – this seems very unlikely. Since that initial story from Sky Italia though, many outlets have supported the claims that Arsenal are interested in the Argentinean forward. It is believed that the 28-year-old may well have requested to leave the Italian club after turning down a new contract. He is in the form of his life, scoring a record-breaking 36 league goals in 35 Serie A games last season. The price over £80million will never happen, but some are now suggesting that Napoli may cash in for around £50million. They may be willing to do this because Higuain’s current contract expires in two years time and the player is not indicating he will extend beyond then. If Napoli are to get the most value out of their striker it would be right now. Next summer he will be about to turn 30 and have just one year left on his contract.

Likelihood: I would’ve rated this as a 1 when the rumour first appeared, but it has to be a bit more likely now that a range of sources are beginning to back up the Gunners interest. I still think it’s extremely unlikely to happen and for that reason.. 3/10
