Arsenal fans have been debating who will succeed Arsene Wenger for years now, but Thierry Henry has today hinted at who he thinks could be on the way.

The Gunners all-time goalscorer spoke with Sky Sports News today, and believes that Pep Guardiola could be on his way to the Premier League sooner than we all think.

After working alongside the 44-year-old during his days at Barcelona, Henry revealed that he can see how the managers talents could work well in England’s top division.

I think eventually he will come. He’s a competitor and will want to win a title in every league possible.

It will suit him, being here in the Premier League. He’s a great guy, (and he has a) great view of the game. He’s one or two steps ahead, he’s in control of everything, the way he loves the game is second to none.

He is one of the best managers I’ve ever had. One thing that strikes me with him that you don’t see, he’s one of those guys who’s very demanding and (the) discipline that he has is on point. You need that amount of discipline to perform on and off the field.

Currently managing Arsenal’s Champions League rivals, Bayern Munich, the Spaniard has been linked with a move to the Gunners when Arsene Wenger does eventually leave.

And although we’re still unsure of exactly when that day will come, it is inevitable that the board are assessing possible replacements to carry this squad in the right direction.

So far, Guardiola has presented the kind of characteristics you would expect to see at Arsenal, having already achieved so much at fellow tika-taka football club, Barcelona.

And although this talk may seem a little premature, the fact that Henry is pointing out these reasonings is a little suggestive that he wants Guardiola at the Emirates.

Henry himself has also been linked to taking the reigns from Wenger, but a lack of experience will most likely leave him out of the dream move for now.

Instead, the pundit will continue his work with Sky Sports whilst continuing to playing a coaching role at Arsenal’s Under 19’s squad.
