Arsenal fans were encouraged by Joel Campbell’s showing against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.
The Costa Rican provided a wonderful assist for Alexis Sanchez’ second goal to show that he does have quality. Criticised for his miss against West Brom and general performances since coming into the team, there was a consensus that last night was his best performance in an Arsenal shirt to date.
With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still not certain to return for the weekend, Campbell is very much still needed in the squad. Chamberlain won’t be ready to start for a few weeks, but Campbell also faces competition from the returning Aaron Ramsey who has played on the right wing for most of the season.
What stood out once more was Campbell’s hunger to win the ball back. He looks to have already improved the technical side of his game and at just 23, still has time to continue to improve.
