And whether Wenger is here or not, it seems club officials are already working on a deal to bring fresh faces to the Emirates at a much earlier stage this year.

That’s because Goal have revealed the Gunners have moved a step closer to sealing the transfer of 23-year-old defender, Sead Kolasinac, from Schalke.

The versatile Bosnian ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to what Arsenal are looking for, with his ability to play at centre back and central defensive midfield too.

On top of all of that, Kolasinac would come on a free due to his five-year spell at Schalke coming to an end with no contract renewal offer on the table.

In a recent series of updates, a club official from Juventus has told Italian journalist Romeo Agresti that they won’t be able to sign the full-back for one clear reason.

The source told Goal Italia’s Agresti that Kolasinac has already developed a verbal agreement to join an unnamed Premier League club.

Although it’s unclear who that is, Arsenal are frontrunners having scouted the defender since the beginning of last season.

It’s believed Kolasinac appreciates the faith Arsenal have shown in him and the challenge of a regular spot at Arsenal would tempt him to develop his personal game.

This could be the first of many changes in the Arsenal ranks this summer, with reports suggesting Wenger will be handed a £200million kitty to put things right.
