Arsenal are ramping up their efforts to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco, with the midfielder now potentially open to a move in the January window. With Alexis set to leave, Wenger views Lemar as an ideal replacement on the left-hand side and he believes the 22-year-old can develop into a World Class player at Arsenal and eventually replace the quality that Alexis offers. Though Monaco are demanding around £100million publically, it is thought than an offer of around £70million would be enough for Monaco to part with their midfielder.

RMC reported on Tuesday evening that Arsenal are stepping up their pursuit of Lemar this month and that a deal could happen, with offers in excess of £60million likely to get the ball rolling.
