3 – Ross Barkley
An odd one and my least favourite of the three, but with Ronald Koeman saying that Everton have had no offers for Barkley, I would be tempted to test the clubs resolve, especially after just last month the manager said he had no future at the club. Everton’s asking price was said to originally be at around £50million, which is way too much, but now, considering the situation, I can see Everton and Koeman being tempted by a bid as low as £20million. He doesn’t want to be at the club and he has one year remaining on his current contract. This could be a deadline day signing perhaps, as Everton will be reluctant to accept such a low amount unless they have to. Barkley is far from the finished product, but if we can get the 23-year-old for just £20millon, he’d be worth the gamble.
These three players are all available and in my opinion, would all provide an upgrade on some of our current options at the club. It’s time to cut our ties with the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and bring in some fresh faces. With this trio signed, I would back the Gunners to be right up at the top of the Premier League this season.
