Arsenal Appear Willing To Approve £20m Sale Of Striker To Juventus

Arsenal could be willing to approve the sale of Olivier Giroud to Juventus this summer, with the Gunners looking to bring in a more clinical forward in the summer.

With Danny Welbeck now the clubs first choice, Giroud may be the man to make way if a new arrival comes in this summer.

Juventus are reportedly very interested in a deal for Giroud, who will turn 30 later this year. The Italian club are in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer as it appears likely that Real Madrid will choose to activate the buy-back clause for Alvaro Morata.

Whilst Arsenal have maintained faith in Giroud for some time now, Arsene Wenger seems to be becoming less trustworthy of the forward and that could lead to a summer exit.

It might be the best for both clubs, with Giroud no longer good enough to lead the line and Arsenal no longer willing to guarantee him a starting spot. The calibre of the Premier League is always improving and whilst Giroud is a very good striker, Arsenal need better to win the Premier League and contend more seriously in Europe.

Giroud could be one of many first team departures this summer, as Wenger will reportedly take one last chance to refurbish his squad before attempting to win the league in the final year of his current contract.

Wenger will know that despite his previous successes, patience is starting to wear thin and failure to deliver the Premier League or Champions League next season may seal his fate. As Arsenal’s squad is currently full, players will have to make way for new arrivals and Giroud could be the first.

The fee is likely to be in the region of £20million, although a good European Championship showing could ignite more interest in the Frenchman.
