5 Deals Arsenal Are Set To Complete Before The Transfer Window Closes

This summer is shaping up to be one of Arsenal’s worst transfer window’s to date, and that’s including last year where our only signing was Petr Cech.

Arsene Wenger now has less than two weeks to change the mood in camp amongst the Gunners, who are in need of a massive lift to end the 12 year wait for a Premier League title.

Whilst it’s inevitable that he has to focus on what’s going on in the current squad as well as what is out in the market, you get the feeling only a big summer spend will satisfy the fans.

It might feel like the same old sort of window for Arsenal, but the fans are beginning to get tired of the shortcomings, but we’ve picked out five deals that we can expect to be completed by August 31st.

1 – Shkodran Mustafi

Ultimately he’s been the talk of the town when it comes to Arsenal’s shopping list, and every day this transfer looks set to get completed.

However, Wenger really needs to push this one over the line to send a statement of intent to not only his rivals, but also the agitated fan-base who are beginning to turn.

If Mustafi doesn’t get secured as an Arsenal player then expect hell to come, because we already know personal terms have been agreed so it would come down to the clubs complacency.

What’s the latest?

When you filter out the paper-filling headlines suggesting the move is on or off, we begin to get an idea of what stage this deal is at, luckily we have David Ornstein for such requests.

The reliable BBC Sport journalist has confirmed that all there is to agree is the fee, with Arsenal unwilling to pay over the odds for a player they don’t deem to match Valencia’s valuation.

That price tag originally stood at over £30million, but it appears the La Liga side are in need to get an instant cash injection as they look to comply with Financial Fair Play laws.

What can he bring?

We’ve been reviewing the 24-year-old for over a month now and he really does look like a player that can come straight into the starting squad alongside Laurent Koscielny.

He may be young but his experience with Germany at international competitions is priceless, and with a desire to be at a Champions League club he won’t be willing to go easy on performances.

That’s what we need in this side, someone to challenge Gabriel for a starting spot because he sure as hell hasn’t been getting that from Per Mertesacker.
