3 Things We Learnt About Arsenal During Galatasaray Mauling

Arsenal Got back to winning ways in the Champions League last night as they outclassed Galatasaray in an impressive 4-1 win. But what did we learn from last night?

1)      Welbeck has properly arrived

Man of the match Danny Welbeck announced his Arsenal arrival last night by scoring his first professional hat-trick.

The young Englishman showed all his attributes in a well rounded performance leading the line for the dominate Gunners.

Welbeck netted three excellent, but different goals in his haul. Firstly making a clever run then slotting past the Galatasaray keeper. Then pouncing on a poor defensive header, showing power and pace to outmuscle the defender, before again coolly slotting past the keeper. Finally, a similar run to the first, followed by a very clever dink over the outrushing keeper.

It was not only his goal scoring which caught the eye. Welbeck worked tirelessly from the first to last minute, providing an outlet for the home side through the match. He tracked back numerous times and isn’t afraid to put himself about for the team.

After the match Welbeck said “He [Wenger] has given me a chance to play football up front, in my preferred position…..I’m delighted to repay him tonight”.

Arsenal fans will be hoping this sort of all action performance is just the start of what can become an excellent season for the every-flourishing Welbeck.
