3 Things We Learnt About Arsenal In 2-0 Win Against Stoke City

Here are 3 points we can take from the 2-0 win against Stoke City.

1) Shooting Means Winning

After the media onslaught of ‘Own Goal’ becoming our top goal scorer, Arsene Wenger knew that anything other than a convincing win, could be costly in his dreams for the Premiership Title. Similarly to previous seasons, Arsenal’s play style allows chances and openings to become available, with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil pulling the strings. However, in recent seasons, Arsenal have struggled to break down teams, partially down to the fact that Arsenal simply do not shoot enough. This was not the case today though. At half time, we boasted 13 shots, with a shot accuracy of just over 50%, while going into the break with a 1-0 lead. Screams from the terraces of ‘Shoot’ and ‘Hit it’ were greeted with long range efforts from Laurent Koscienly and Francis Coquelin, as well as an attacking style that we hadn’t seen since the Emirates Cup.
