Romelu Lukaku looks set to leave Everton in search of Champions League football this summer. Whilst Everton will be desperate to keep hold of the Belgian, they would profit from a number of clubs desperate for a new striker.

Amongst those clubs are cash rich Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal. If Everton are forced via player power, to part with Lukaku, they can expect to recoup a tidy sum and a substantial increase on the £28million they paid to sign him from Chelsea.

It is easy to forget that Lukaku is still 22 years old, considering the amount of time he has been in the Premier League. With his age and ability, it is no surprise that he is being valued in excess of £45million – especially when you consider what Manchester United shelled out for an unproven Anthony Martial last summer. That transfer really set the tone for the price of young, promising strikers and it may well influence the price of Lukaku.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are the strongest linked and all need a top striker for different reasons. Over on Fresh Football we analysed how Lukaku statistically compares to some of the top strikers in Europe.

Arsenal are in the market for a new striker this summer and Lukaku’s age, stature and Premier League experience could appeal to the Gunners. Whether or not Wenger would be prepared to pay in excess of £45million is another matter. Signing Lukaku would have to break the clubs transfer record fee, although the Belgian is still only 22, making him a potentially good investment for the current and long term.
