Report: Gunners In Talks To Sign £20million 6ft 2’ Goal-scoring Winger

With the January transfer window under way, and all the talk surrounding Arsenal about midfield additions, should Arsene Wenger be looking to add a forward to his squad? The papers think he is looking at a Dynamo Kyiv forward.

There has been a worrying lack of attacking options on the bench for The Gunners recently with several injuries to first team players. Alexis Sanchez will return imminently, but with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ineffective and other forwards injury prone – I think Arsenal need another quality option in the final third.

The latest name in the media to be touted with a move to London is Andriy Yarmolenko, with some (not so reliable) papers suggesting that Arsenal have began talks with the Ukranian winger – a £20million price-tag has been mooted. The powerful forward would certainly add something to the club. He can score goals and has strong physical attributes – having netted an impressive 76 goals in 187 appearances.

His goal-scoring qualities continue on the international stage, with 22 goals in 55 appearances for Ukraine.

Despite his goals and ripe age of 26, Yarmolenko has never played outside of Kyiv. You have to wonder why. This signing would certainly be a gamble, but with the obvious quality he has – is it a gamble worth taking?

Borussia Dortmund striker has also Patrick Pierre-Aubameyang has been linked with a move to Arsenal, but the reports were rubbished by the players himself.
